Basic Pistol Course In Ventura area?

Would like to know if anyone would recommend a basic pistol course in the Ventura County area. I've been to the range a few times, however I would like to learn the basics properly versus learning and stummbling as I go. Thanks in advance!

I would check out Shooters Paradise in Oxnard. They more than likely have classes. I believe there is a web site.

The Oxnard range should offer some sort of a course.

Oaktree has basic classes not too far from Ventura.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

Taran Butler does private and group pistol training in Ventura County. If you don't know who he is, he's one of the best competition shooters in the country.

He's not the cheapest but he has trained some of the best shooters and celebrities. The best way to contact him is through the phone number on his website. http://www.taranbutler.com/

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll check out Shooter's Paradise and Oak Tree since they're both not too far. But I'll give Action Firearms Training a call too.

There's also Tacfire in Ventura. They are pretty highly regarded around here.

They offer an introductory pistol class for beginners for $100.

They also have other classes of defensive pistol classes that progress up from level 1-6. I've never taken one of their classes but a friend of mine took a defensive shotgun class there and couldn't stop talking about it for months.

Come down to LA and do TFTT or ITTS Pistol courses.

I've been to Tac Fire. I'd look at others before going there.

Taran Butler is a great guy, great shooter and teacher. I've taken a lesson or two from him. If you aren't real familiar with shooting I'd take a beginner class first then go to him I think you'd get more out of it.

www.tftt.com (Tactical Firearms Training Team) Tac Pistol L I, II, & III, on the Azusa range. I speak from experience. (I have not been to gunsite, but I hear that their pistol 250 course is bomb-diggity.)
I don't always carry a gun, but when I do, I prefer Glock.
