    Can't seem to shake cali

So I placed a order with AIM for some ak47 bakelites on the 20th. I haven't heard anything from them so I sent them a email. The email reads

We sent you a email and wanted to make sure you won't take the mags back to cali. So we were waiting for your reply.

Wtf? They are being sent to NV is AIM the cops or something? Why should they care. It's being sent to a legit address and that's all they should be concerned with. Btw u also received no email asking if they were going to cali on the 23rd.

I've placed other orders with two vendors with zero issues. I guess this will be my last order with AIM.

Some how I could drive to reno when I lived in cali and buy what I wanted and no one asked anything. It was on me.

How did they even know you were from Cali? Or were you a prior customer?

Yeah I was but I had items shipped to cali where I was. I've now moved and changed the info on their site. It says NV. Oh well they are shipping now just sux for the delay. This is why I'm starting a business to sell to cali. I will pin all mags that others wont.

The answer may very will be that CAL DOJ has been harassing and threatening them and to avoid further harassment and threats they have implemented certain procedures to cover their ask.

They did the same thing to me. I had the mags shipped to my other residence in AZ but since the billing address was in CA they wanted to verify that I wouldn't be bringing the mags back to CA.

It really stumps me. The buyer is the one responsible for this, The Vendor isnt the Feds. As long as UPS ships to another state whats the problem? It would seem at that point the vendor is covered.

If the Feds came back on them they could say, hey I shipped to a out of state addy. Whats the problem, Ill never understand.

AIM Surp used to be cool in shipping to non CA addresses regardless of your billing address but after the City of SF lawsuit against 44Mag, Exile Machine, Cope's and B&L Productions in June 2013, they stopped shipping any mags > 10 to customers that had a previous or billing address in CA.

Understandable CYA move after Exile had to settle with the City of SF for $15,000 but it really should not apply for guys like you and Jes.
