    Background Check Question(s)

Here is the Long and Short...

I recently got married, bought a house and moved out of my apartment of 11 years. I remember being told by Turners that they have had problems in the past with background checks on people who had recently moved...

My Drivers License still reflects my old address, but I have updated the information thru the DMV. So, if I was to purchase something tommorow, what is the chance of "failing" the background check. Should I go ahead and get a new Drivers License that reflects my new address before I attempt to purchase anything new?

    Thanks in advance.

You are not going to fail a check just because you moved. Just be sure the FFL uses your correct address. You will furnish proof of residency through a utility bill, rental agreement, etc..

Shouldn't be a problem. I DROSed a handgun and my old address was on the DROS (didn't find out til after I picked it up and asked for a copy). I even told the guy handling it that my current address was on my vehicle registration. Still went through ok and still got my handgun after 10 days.

They'll probably make you fill out a DMV change of address form that they'll stick in the file. I've seen them do that a few times.

if you go to Turners, especially in Reseda, go to the DMV and pick up a change of address receipt. They'll deny you otherwise.

I have seen Turner's make someone use their car registration (with correct address) b/c their drivers liscence address wasnt current. Just take a couple utillity bills with you to be sure.
