flying with ammunition

I have about 10 boxes of IMI XM193 I would like to take on a flight with me.

It is still sealed in the original manufacturers carton. Can I just throw this in my regular checked baggage or does it need to be in a locked gun case??

Every U.S. airline except Alaska Air uses the 11 pound (5kg) limit set by international air carrier agreements. Alaska Air allows 50 pounds for domestic flights, which is the U.S. limit.

Everything stated is true. Yes you need to declare it and when they ask you how many rounds they will look at you like you're a crazy extremist. But no worries.
