Took them long enough. And they deal with the possibility of terror attacks by gunmen, vehicles as weapons, suicide and conventional bomb, and bio/chem too.

Title is misleading.

Firearms permit =/= CCW in Israel.

They want the bad guys to know that they have the immediate ability to fight back.

they are not talking about issuing more CCWs.

They are issuing more gun permits.

In Israel you need a permit to openly carry a firearm.

The new changes will allow more people to qualify for a permit to OPENLY carry a firearm.

It will allow people who have older Government Issued firearms to turn them in for newer firearms.

It will allow for security guards to take their firearms home with them and to carry them while off duty.

It will allow any Reserve Army Officer to carry at all times.

^^^^the main point is that one country chooses to increase the availability of firearms to their citizenry while another country tries to decrease it after gun violence. No intent to deceive here. Sorry if I did.
