Back in January I decided that the shooting community's identity needs a makeover...in a good way. So I decided to set out to portray gun owners as they really are: everyday, normal people from all walks of life. My hope is to show that gun owners come from the left and the right, the young and the old, and from all walks of life in general. I called it Group not just as a shooting term, but because we stand together united together as one group of firearms owners.
I do this by interviewing interesting supporters of the 2nd Amendment such as mountain men, police officers, chefs, and veterans who are conservative or liberal. Everyone I have interviewed so far has a great story to tell.
This past year I have been especially busy (which is why I wasn't able to make an announcement earlier in the year), but now I have finally started to dedicate most of my time to this project. What I need for the project right now are more interviews! I would say that 1/3 of the people I knew gladly did it, 1/3 flaked, and 1/3 didn't want anyone to know they had guns. I come to CalGuns today to ask if anyone in the Southern California area would be interested in telling their story for the benefit of the shooting community. I need to start small before I can travel across the United States interviewing gun owners.
I make no money off of my blog and it is completely ad free. But you would have the opportunity to get the word out about your business, vent frustrations, get some photos taken, or just contribute in taking back the identity of the shooting community. If you are interested email me at groupcoalition@gmail.com or shoot me a PM and tell me your location and some interesting things about yourself so I can get an idea of what we could talk about.
You can check out my interviews and writing at groupcoalition.com and my photos on Instagram: @groupcoalition. The Facebook page is facebook.com/groupcoalition
Thank you for your time and I hope to see some of you soon!
