    How to sell brass?

    Hello all,
Looking for suggestions on how to sell brass. I have a five gallon bucket (65lbs) with mixed calibers 9, 40, 45 and 223. I'd say about 70+% is my once fired stuff and the rest are range findings. I'd guess that there's about 40% of 9, 30-40% of 45 and the remainder is 40 and 223/556.
Without spending hours sorting through every piece of brass, is there an easy and fair way of selling this mixture?
    Thanks!

Either find a quick easy way of sorting the brass and list each of them on here for sale.

Or just list the lot in a F/S thread in the classifieds and hope someone picks it up. About the best you can do.

Also some uys will and do trade ammo/parts/cash for brass. Not much but it is worth a little. I have traded/sold brass here a few times.

Unsorted someone will offer you scrap prices. Sorted you can sell it by the caliber. Check GunBroker for how much people are charging. Sorting is something to do while watching boring TV.

Keep your brass, learn to reload and you'll be able to weather the panics.

That was the intention... Unfortunately, I don't see myself doing any reloading any time soon (not in the next 3-5 years).

Great suggestions everyone! Thank you all!

65lbs would get you $136.50 off a order at Freedom Munitions. The catch is you'd have to pay to ship it to them via USPS Flat Rate.

High-quality, USA-made ammo for sale online, including bulk orders! Get new and remanufactured rounds at great prices. Shop 9mm, 223, 380, .45, 10mm, and more.

A long long time ago when my friend and I would help clean up the range we would leave with a ton of pistol brass. We would post adds on Craigslist, we would cover the add with this is not loaded ammo, sometimes the adds would get flagged but not before people started calling. We sold a lot of brass on Craigslist that way. Most popular brass was .45acp, then wait for it, .380, then 9mm. The same old guy would buy most of the .380 every time. Another time we went to do a deal and the old guys were shocked it was just brass. One said to the other, I told you it was to good to be true. My friends said, I told you on the phone it's brass not live rounds and the add clearly says brass only, not live, etc. Still sold a lot of brass that way.

Sorting will get you the best return. Or just list the bucket in the reloading sales section. I'd be interested in it if your are in SoCal.

Unless something has changed from the last time I looked at the Freedom Arms site, they ONLY take brass for credit in the calibers they offer for sale. So even for them you would need to sort what you have.

Thanks - forgot to state that fact in my previous post.

They have sorting machines, no need to do it for them!
