    Best "matte black finish"

What do you guys think would be the best "matte black finish" to get my handgun refinished in. It is currently blued and the bluing is wearing off. I was going to get it hard chromed but decided I want it to be black. I have looked at black oxide, anodizing, and parkerizing. What do you guys think?

Have the firearm parkerized, then duracoated. Wait a month for the duracoat to cure. That's your best, period.

Anodizing is only for aluminum. Black oxide and parkerizing are only for certain steels. Since your gun is blued, you can have it parkerized, but you can't have it anodized. Black oxide isn't worth it. It's not a very robust finish.

Even if you don't get it duracoated, get it parkerized.

The gun is a Browning Hi-power so its all steel. Any idea on the best place to get it parkerized? Thanks

              I'll be waiting.

where did you get it? If your close to SJ I will be doing some duracoating there in a few weeks, I can throw your pistol in while you wait. Swing by, have a beer, it will be dry to the touch in no time.

                          Nice grips. What are they?

Pachmayr Signature Model, they have held up well IMO, this used to be a Police gun in the 70's
