Geissele AR15 Triggers and why in the hell is there so many different versions?!

I've always run single stage Timney TG's in my AR's, but they still have creep and they're all over the place in pull weight too. So......

I'm considering the switch to a two stage tg and of course the Geissele is considered the best of the best.

My first question is why do they have over 15 different types of tg's for the ar15's? Really? It's actually 17.. To me reading through 15-17 different types of features is confusing.

My lil simple .204 AR that I use to shoot squirrels needs a 2lbs or less trigger pull. Anyone have an idea on which Geissele TG's I should be looking at?

Talk about marketing and suckers with $$$ this is it

Um, one with 2lb trigger pull.

I think you should switch to a 2 stage trigger. I would get an SSA or SSA-E.

The E is one lb lighter at 3.5lbs but that is split between the two stages. Should give you a more predictable trigger pull when hunting.

For a target trigger, I really like the jp enterprises. Single stage that feels almost as good as a bolt action.

I just got the trigger kit using the existing hammer cutting off the 'hook' with a dremel.

OP, check out the adjustable national match model. As to why so many G triggers, customers want something, he builds it.

One trigger can not do it all, so there are many to accommodate your specific needs.

There's no denying Geissele makes quality parts, but for the money there are others I prefer more.

              Hm....

              Flat or curved trigger
              Single or two-stage
              Adjustable or non-adjustable
              (8 permutations of the above)

Multiply by a couple of different pull weights, and you've got 16 variants, easy.

There is a simple trigger selector/finder tool on the website. If you can't find it, and use it, you shouldn't be using a firearm in the first place. Just answer the questions it asks and it will spit out the right trigger for your application.

I have tried quite a few AR triggers...Jewel, Timney, JP, AR Gold, ELF, Geissele, worked over LPK triggers, etc.

Out of all of them I prefer the AR Gold.

+1 tonyxcom. I also run the SSA-E in my AR-10. Very happy with it.

That will cost you over $1000 to try all of those out.

I've got an SSA-E on my .308 AR, and an RRA Varmit 2-stage on both my .223/5.56 AR's.

Side by side they feel the same as far as pull & break, both excellent & exactly what I like. The Geissele is described as "Battle Ready/ Proven" with the manufacturing & QC to ensure you are getting a top quality product. This is, of course, reflected in the price.

SSA & SSA-E are made for combat/ battle rifles & are non-adjustable. The more expensive adjustable models are for competition & other uses where lives are not at stake.

You should be just fine with an SSA or SSA-E, or save $100 & go with the RRA.
