Anyone make custom foam inserts for Pelican cases?

I just got a Pelican case (1500) and though that plucking the foam out the way I wanted it would be time consuming, but possible. Now that I have the case, I realize it is not that easy.

Does anyone on CG make custom foam inserts (without having to buy another case) or can anyone point me to a place that does it? I am looking to make it look something like this, except I want one pistol at the bottom long ways instead of the magazine. In this picture, it looks like the foam square are much larger than the ones that came in my case. It would be easy to do if mine had the larger removable squares.

    Thanks in advance!!!

Good question. Got the same issue with my pelican cases. Just did a google search on "custom foam inserts for Pelican cases" and turned up a few operations that look legit.

If you need custom foam, you need MyCaseBuilder. Design your own custom foam case with our easy-to-use web application.

Yea I was going to say the best method I'd a hot wire cut.

Cleanest way to cut. But DIY for sure.

I'd practice on a few pieces of foam first.

If using the hotwire method, ive found this works well -

Make a cardboard template of the shape youd like to cut, pin it to the foam, and hotwire around it. Very clean lines, and you get a gun shaped piece of foam at the end to scare libs with!

The picture I posted looks like the pick and pluck squares are 1"+. My case has 1/2" squares. It would be way easier with the bigger squares. Also if I did the hot wire method, how would I cut angles so the guns sat at an angle?

                Anyone?

These guys do but it's not cheap. The also have closed cell foam which doesn't hold moisture like open cell will do.

These look awesome! I have seen every custom case manufacturer on the internet and were it not that I just bought a $105 Pelican case, I would buy a custom one case. I am just looking for someplace that I can have custom foam inserts made for the case that I have now.

                          Thanks though!

I went to a sporting goods store and got a foam sleeping pad.
Cut it to size. My application took 3 layers.
Arrange contents as desired on top layer. Trace the outline of items. Cut-out with a razor blade or sharp knife.
I have a 2-sided locking case. One side holds handgun, slide either closed or open, with/without flashlight and 2 mags. Next layer down has cutouts for cleani.g rod and brushes.
The other locking side holds 10 more mags. I can also remove one of the three layers and replace with a Remora IWB holster.

Poke around the gun section of the website.....some of the inserts are as much as $150....and I suspect the true custom stuff is even more.

Edit: The insert for the 6 pistol case is $111.00 so not as much as I was remembering.....
