The angles are nice but $165 for some conduit, web strapping and a 1/4 mount screw sure seems way over priced to me.

You sure can build your own. YouTube 'DIY GoPro shoulder mount' and you'll see several different designs. Or save yourself the time and buy one pre-made. Your choice - money or time.

I bought a cheap QD bipod mount on eBay. Removed the swivel stud, and epoxied one of the GoPro mounts that came in the box (I believe it was the mount they used to hold it for display purposes).

Works fairly well.

POV Mounting Systems looks like they have some good options.

No matter how you mount it, the GoPro is awkward on a firearm. The shape and mounting point pretty much assure that, however you mount it, it is going to stick out and get in the way. I guess that isn't such a big deal if you just want to capture video at the range, but it would probably be unwieldy for hunting or competition.

I'm glad that Contour is back in business. I really prefer the low-profile form of the Roam cameras to that of the GoPro. It just works better for mounting to a weapon or on the side of a helmet. Contour also makes an M1913 mount for the Contour cameras.

What?! Contour is back in business?!?!!? Oh Snaps!! I have 3 contour i use to mount on my gun. Strikemark works great on them. Its profile is just like adding a flash light to your gun.
