    SRM 1216 sight options

Hey guys! I recently picked up a SRM-1216 and have been going back and forth as to which sights to throw on this thing. I am leaning towards either flip up sights or the handle+front sight over the more expensive EO Tech style optics (hell it's 16 rounds rounds of 00 buck, how precise is it really going to be??). Just looking for opinions and/or personal experience. Thanks in advance

I've never liked sights on my shotguns. I've found they restrict the field of view too much, because the target range isn't very far away. What I've done is practice enough with slugs to know where the POI is with iron sights.

Anyone with personal experience with the SRM-1216?

Two of my best friends bought one each. I fired one a couple weeks ago- kicks a lot lighter than the KSG does, and lighter still than an old 1970s gas-op semi.

The rotation is a little fidgety since you have to hit the lock up front to spin the mag, and you have to use the bullet button TWICE- once to remove, once to insert the mag, but it was quite fun to shoot.

The one I shot had an occasional jam which was due to a fault in one of the mag tubes- it always happened once around the same time in each mag- I suspect one tube isn't quite in perfect alignment or needs a bevel. If jiggled, it'll feed the next round and drop the bolt.

Cycle time seems a little slower than the old gas gun, and it felt solid. I like it- I'd get one if it were about half the price

Lol, thanks for the info. I am definitely looking forward to getting it out the the range myself. I've read they can be a bit finicky the first 200-300 rounds, but they seem to resolve most issues after break in. I wasn't planning on buying one just yet, but the deal was too good to pass up....now I just have to research sight options and it's range time.

Ordered a red dot for now, figuring if it doesn't fit well I can always throw it on something else. Thanks for the input guys
