    NEED AN FFL!

I need an FFL who wont screw me hard in my wallet. Called a few places they want $130 for SSE, then $25 for background and sales tax. Which over $200 for a gun transfer sounds insane. I DON'T WANT to pay over $100 anybody know some FFL who would do it?

Located around Hollywood, Burbank, Reseda, anywhere around here.

Check out PDguns in San Fernando. They are a vendor here as well.

$130 for a transfer that needs SSE is about right. PD guns charges $80 or $85 (cheapest I found in SFV) which includes DROS but thats for Rifles and on roster handguns that don't need SSE.

If you live up here in the SF Bay Area, I would recommend Mt Pleasant Arms as the owner charges only $40 per SSE.

You bought online and need it shipped to LGS, and then need to do SSE, and then do DROS, you are gonna pay something for the service.

Didn't you know this going in ??

I knew it but over $200 bucks is ridiculous for doing nothing.

Not trolling at all.....you would be curled up in a ball crying if I trolled you.

You wanted to try to save a few bucks, and you didn't wanna order from an FFL. That's fine and your choice.

But then you post about how you are getting ripped off because you obviously didn't think it through all the way, and now you need to find a cheaper way out.
This whole thing was 100% preventable if you had done your due diligence.
All I did was point this out.

AND......this thread might be used in the future to teach others what not to do when buying online.

Got to agree need to do your shopping around before you buy ........... of course you can save yourself all that money and just pay the $25 DROS fee by buying a pistol on the safe handgun roster.

umm, there is quite a bit of work involved to do the transfer for you, its not "nothing".

Buying out of state doesn't make much sense unless whatever you are after is simply unobtanium locally; and if you live in the middle of the largest megalopolis ion the North American continent, you can usually find what you are looking for locally.

If you walk into an FFL and ask him to order something for you, he will generally be as helpful as he can be. If you ask him to assist you with an out-of-state purchase you made with someone else, he will often regard you as a cow that needs to be milked, at best.

I am reminded of people who buy tires on-line and then take them to a tire shop to be mounted. I hope the money they think they are saving is worth the indifferent mounting and balancing job they are probably getting.

Well you aren't paying over $200 for a transfer. You are paying over $200 for a transfer, a SSE, a DROS fee, and sales tax.

You state that you want to pay $100 for everything. Let's break this down, pricewise. Assuming your sales tax is roughly $45 according to your math above, so that leaves $55. DROS is $25 so that brings you to $30. So you want to find a LGS that will do a Dealer-to-Dealer transfer AND do a SSE conversion for $30? Gene, I understand that you don't want to pay $200+ on top of the cost of the firearm but I just don't see that happening. Most shops charge more than double that for each service.

Regardless, best of luck with your search, sir.
