    Marathon gun cleaning

Today I cleaned 14 hand guns, 4 rifles and 2 shotguns. All in ~7 hours.

Next time I need to take less guns.

How about you guys? Ever do a marathon gun cleaning?

Wow, you have a lot more discipline than I, that's for sure.

    What guns were they?

      FNX 45
      Sig Sauer P320
      Beretta PX4 Storm (.40)
      Beretta 92FS

For years I'd bring the whole arsenal to the range to shoot, 10+ guns. Now I do 2 pistols max, and stick with one rifle. It's better for training, a lot less **** to carry and saves hours on cleanup.

Typically I do this as well. This was a special occasion.

How long was the range trip not including travel?

Not including travel, about 5-6 hours.

I do not clean my firearms each range trip. It is not needed.

Sometimes I decide to clean and will spend 1-3 weeks cleaning every day. I am retired so I have the time. It takes time to do it for 100+ firearms.

Good work, OP. I appreciate your labors because every time I clean guns, it's a marathon. Usually I take a Sunday afternoon and evening to get them all done. Anything with a few hundred rounds recently put through it gets a scrubbing. Everything else gets a once over to establish readiness, rotate loaded mags, and check for lubrication. My older and collectible stuff gets a thorough corrosion check.

All part of the price you pay to be happy. Like some others have mentioned before, I don't necessarily enjoy the task but it does tend to relax me.

It is hard to maintain the same level of detailing all the way through. I am glad it is done and they are all locked up with the others.

Everyone had fun and folks had a chance to try guns they may might have otherwise. This event is once a year so it is worth it.
