I was browsing through the list and noticed that the San Gabriel Valley Gun Club was denied an FFL license renewal in August of 2010. I was a member of the Jr NRA and earned my Distinguished Rifleman badge there. Hmmm. That was 61 years ago. There was a scummy pond called Lake Lulu off of Fish Canyon Road not far from the range. We used to ride our bikes there and catch frogs. I wouldn't doubt that pressure to close the ranges is an example of back door gun control. I moved from Monrovia when I was 21 years old. I live in southeast Oregon and can shoot out my back door. I don't. Well, I might if there was a big buck standing in my back yard on opening day. Someone is shooting on their property almost every day around here and I don't really appreciate it. A stray bullet passed so close to my next door neighbor's head that she heard it go by and she isn't anti gun. Almost everyone here has Kids, livestock and other animals. There is a great place to shoot on BLM land a half mile up the road that even has graveled parking. There is a hill that makes a natural backstop. I reload and my son and I made both a paper target stand and a swinging metal target that we take up there. We shoot there every week and there is no range fee. In White City, Oregon there are two outdoor ranges, one public and one private. The private club is 100 yards off Highway 62, the busiest highway in Oregon. The public range has a rifle range. The club has outdoor skeet and indoor pistol and small bore. We also have an outdoor range at a sportsmans' park here in Klamath Falls. The attitude here is different. I have a 2 acre parcel I would let go if anyone is interested.

The SGVGC range closed down in 2006. From what I was told by a few members, the club had an FFL and if you were a member you could make use of the FFL. Shame the range closed down."All bad precedents began as justifiable measures." Julius Caesar -

The new neighbors on the Azusa side, and the antigun city council of Azusa.
Lots of LEO agencies lost a training range too."I saved your life, AND brought you pizza" -- MeComment

So, what was the point of this? Was it an observation about the closing of this range, complaining or bragging about shooting in your backyard, or extolling the virtues of shooting on BLM lands? I'm so confused. All posts dedicated to the memory of Stronzo Bestiale

You miss the range that closed down. You hate people shooting so close to where you live because your neighbors complain. There's a shooting range close to the freeway. That's what I got from your post. I hope everything is okay.Originally posted by beccibooWhy make it clear when there is an agency that can make up and enforce their own laws? Its one of those things where you need to make the personal decision as to whether you want to be right or free. Is it worth it to you?Comment
