Can I borrow your trigger pull gauge?

I just bought a new trigger for one of my pistols and want to confirm the trigger pull to make sure it meets spec. I am located in the east bay and will drive up to 20-30 miles if available.

    Thanks!

Run a string from your trigger to a water jug. Add water until it pulls the trigger. Weigh water jug.

Is there some math equation to go with this or as simple as it sounds? example: water jug weighs 3-4 lbs = trigger pull

Sounds too simple, but I like...

A gallon of water is ~ 8 pounds.

Standard way to verify trigger pull in competition is with weights.

A good mnemonic is: a pint is a pound, the world around.

I'll be in Richmond on Sunday, if that helps?

This. Much easier and cheaper than driving 30 miles, and probably more accurate, too.

I'd also like to add my kudos to the generous CalGunners on this thread who offered their trigger pull gauges in the Bay Area.

Why are you willing to drive so far for a pull gauge?

You do know they aren't 100% accurate and just a ball park correct?

Tried this on a couple of pistols yesterday, piece of cake. Thanks for the idea!

A pint of what? Be careful with that saying. Liquids of differing types or compositions can have different weights.

But.... I'm assuming you're talking about "water."
