I've never heard of him before, but it's a good article."It is long been a principle of ours that one is no more armed because he has possession of a firearm than he is a musician because he owns a piano. There is no point in having a gun if you are not capable of using it skillfully." -- Jeff Cooper -
SAMs good people and we have emailed since 2005. Met him in person many times as well.
He wouldn't make it long in the Faith Forum. He's a New York Times best selling author and two of my favorites from him are 'End of Faith' and 'Letter to a Christian Nation'.
Best thing, he's a shooter and gun owner like us.Last edited by Oceanbob; 10-29-2014, 5:19 PM.May the Bridges I burn light the way.

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).Comment

Well thank god this guy is on our side. With friends like him, who needs enemies?
"I have read articles in which literally everything said about firearms and ballistics has been wrong."
Yes Sam, and apparently even written some yourself. And ok, his article isn't all bunk. But some of it sure is. Such as this little gem...
"The only other variable to consider is the number of rounds a gun can hold, because this dictates the frequency with which a shooter must pause to reload. Here the path to increased public safety is reasonably clear. In California and New York, for instance, one cannot buy magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. As a consequence, the moment at which a shooter can be tackled by bystanders comes after every 10 shots."
So why 10 then? What happens if people are allowed to carry 11? And if less is more, how about 9...8...7...6...? How about 0 then? Once they get to 10, what's to stop them from wanting to go to 7...like we just saw in New York? And then where will they go from 7?
So yea, put me in this camp...
"On the one hand, many gun-rights advocates reject even the most sensible restrictions on the sale of weapons to the public."
Not one more damn inch Sam! Why? Because even if we could agree on whose definition of "sensible" to use, the other side isn't interested in sensible restrictions. They've proven time and time again that they can't be trusted and that their "sensible restrictions" are just the next steps to their ultimate goal of complete confiscation.
I'm through with having my rights trampled. So yea...not one more damn inch!Last edited by L84CABO; 10-30-2014, 10:49 PM."Kestryll I wanna lick your doughnut."
