I saw it earlier today, and I am convinced it's staged. Why doesn't the cameraman have it focused on the target? If you look at the tree branches moments before, it appears to fall right at the moment he shoots, as if someone is holding the tree trunk. The tree itself appears to be very small in diameter. Just my opinion. In addition if the branch was hit, it would have a violent vibration from the S&W 500. But you don't see that.
