    Gun Gallery in Glendale

I just went there to see if he would do a transfer of an AOW under my trust and ATF approved paperwork, he said that it was illegal and he would not do it at any cost, then he goes off to talk about OLL, and says that he sells its, but they are illegal if they are put together. He said " i only sell these as items, and make people sign it off when they purchase it, that its being sold as a item and not a receiver." He mentioned that a few of his friends had gotten arrested and charged with having OLL put together, i tried to tell him they must have had them in a NON-LEgal california configuration, but he didnt respond to that comment, which made me believe that he knew the reason why they were arrested, but still trying to prove to me that they are illegal. He also commented on other shops selling them illegally. He even went on to say that Metroshot is doing illegal business by selling OLL's.

This goes to show how smart the people running that shop are, they had no knowledge of any california gun laws, and even though i mentioned to them, about the ATF paperwork and approvals through DOJ, they said they are wrong, and that will never be legal.

Now i know ive had bad remarks about them in the past, but they were the closest class 3 dealer i knew of, i was hoping for them to be able to help me out, but this again proved to me why i will never step a foot inside that place. Just a bunch of uneducated people.

He may try and hide behind them as only being sold as "items", but he is also DROS'ing them as a longgun...

Kind of like being half pregnate...

That's interesting, I had a much better experience at that store than you had. It didn't involve AOW, but I did ask about quotes on OLL parts and the head guy, Richard I believe his name is, was very knowledgeable and helped me out quite a bit.

I do notice that if there are customers ahead of you, you get ignored until those customers are done, but hey, once they get your attention, they're attentive all day.

On a side note, i also asked for pricing on their OLL. THey wanted $250 for a stag arms stripped lower.

        What are they thinking?

I was told by the head guy, Richard (still don't remember if that's his name), that he's aware that the prices are high and will not be upset if you "haggle" with him. Haggle in a sense that his prices are high and you can talk him down to market price, maybe even lower.

That's stupid. It's a gun store, not the swap meet.

It is located in an Armenian neighborhood so it is the accepted practice for many of the clientle. If they started at market their customers would want to talk them down from there. Its kind of a sport for everyone involved!

I am not Armenian though my mom looks like Cher, they may want to play the game like it's a souk, but I do not. If they can stay in business, all power to them.

I'm not Armenian either but I always ask if a gunshop can do better on the price of a firearm. Worst they can say is no.

I take it you do not shop at Turners. I have heard they refuse to do this on their guns. But I have heard otherwise as well.

I actually feel bad in some cases asking gunshops to work on the price and I only do in certain rare cases, usually only when someone has a rediculous priced consignment that has been sitting for ages.

well the last couple of guns i bought at turners (pasadena) i have haggled on... you just gotta talk to the manager. pretty much covered my dros both times. i don't haggle, nor would i expect to receive any discount on their "sale" items.
