Good timing on the Redhawk, which is a much beefier .44 Mag than the Smith. For quite some time, they were out of production and scarce. Consider the 5-1/2" model, it may feel more balanced.
Gallery of Guns is a good place to check. You can get a quote by entering in your zip code. Prices will vary quite a bit depending on the store you choose. I specify a radius of 50 miles. The prices shown are the OTD (out the door) figures. Shipping, taxes, transfer fees and DROS are all included. If something is OFF ROSTER, you can't get a quote at all.
Grab a Gun has them in stock too. You'll need to add shipping, tax and all fees to those prices.Last edited by scotchblade; 10-24-2014, 7:58 AM.Comment

Thanks for the advice! Those links are awesome and are already saving me a ton of time... and looking for all sorts of other guns I haven't budgeted with the missis yet. Hehe.
As a question, what do you mean by better balance with the 5.5" vs the 7.5"? I like just the little extra weight. Gonna be more of a fun shooting gun and I'll have it with me in case I'm ever deep in the woods facing a Grizzly. Otherwise I'm 6'-1" and 215lb so I assume I'm strong enough to handle a 7.5" barrel. Sorry for the dumb question but I'm 99% certain I'm gonna buy from someone on here and want to ensure that is what I want before I research a little more.Comment

regardless of your strength, the shorter barreled gun is going to wield faster for you when the grizzly comes out of nowhere with intent to inflict great bodily harm. you may have a few seconds to draw and shoot. the bear's grasp can reach the muzzle of a longer barrel faster than a short barrel. a fraction of a second can make the difference. Thanks for the advice!
