Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I've been browsing some of the forums mentioned here.

How is it possible the thehighroad.org doesn't have a classified section? With the amount of traffic they get, it seems like a no-brainer.

Or maybe I just missed it.

Anyway, one thing is clear. There are a lot of gun nuts out there.

They have one you just have to be logged in to see it IIRC.

Of course, the 'new management' may have killed it.

Ah - OK. I was browsing as guest.

I'm particular about the nutballs I associate with, so wanted to check out the neighborhood first.

                    1. http://forum.m1911.org - Has for sale ads.
                    2. www.1911forum.com does not seem to have a for sale section, although I'm not a member if that is a member only forum.

Question - I want to discuss "ammo vs springs from factory" specifically for an Advantage Arms .22LR conversion kit on a Colt 1911. Where could a forum like that be found?

Forum 1 above seems pretty picky about where things go in there forum so ammo discussions would not be in the conversion section, and their conversion section gets few posts.

Forum 2 above does not seem to have a conversion section, did I miss that?

Glock talk? AA makes conversion kits for those... I'm lost at the moment.

I'd ask here in the Handgun forum - There are quite a few 1911 guys here. Good luck.

What's wrong with the kit? It seems nice when I shot it -

Absolutely nothing wrong with the kit at all - perfect.

Just wanted to experiment with different ammo. Advantage Arms conversion kits can be purchased with extra springs for $7.50. 2 springs come with that option, 1 for standard velocity ammo, one for subsonic velocity ammo. Just wanted to trade notes with other people cause I'm a bit confused on all the ammo types.

It was pretty funny watching you take that first shot and there was no recoil.

Thanks for letting me try out your 1911s - lets do it again sometime.

I was still stunned from shooting Tankerman's .454 Casull -

There's a lunch and shoot at Bullseye Sat. - Not sure if I'll make it though - Will know by Friday. DedEye started a thread on it.
