Surplus firearms for Law Enforcement Agencies

I see that the DLA is now giving M16A2s to civilian agencies instead of M16A1s. I guess the A1s are now depleted between aid to middle eastern rebels and agency donations. This also indicates how many A2s have been withdrawn from service use.

I was surprised to see that M14s are still being offered to civilian agencies. I would have thought the attrition rate would be high enough between Iraq and Afghanistan that the DoD would need to hang onto every serviceable M14 in the inventory.

M-14 have been replaced by M-110 and Mk 17 Mod 0.

This. The DoD realized its use as a DMR and has been having new variants made after Army and Marine Corps armorers started refurbishing old m14s. Same happened with the 1911. MARSOC was being issued refurbished WW2 1911s for quite a while.
Dear ISIS, Texas is not known for their gun free zones.
