Isn't there a federal law preventing you from carrying at government institutions such as Post offices and (FDIC Insured) banks?Originally posted by Soldier415If you come to my house at 8am to give me pamphlets, I will poop on your shoes.Originally posted by ar15barrelsNot everyone is so smart.

Good Job. It is perhaps one of the more challenging venues to open carry in terms of nerve, but so long as you behave like every other customer, you should be good to go.
BTW- I have carried in three branches of my bank, with no looks or comments.

Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim -- when he defends himself -- as a criminal. Bastiat

OC in mine tomorrow!!!
The sad thing is I doubt anyone would get scared since I talk about guns 24/7, they would probably just stare at me.Comment

pullnshoot25 keep up the work and it is inspiring to hear about your OC stories.

This forum is full of people that like to talk about guns 24/7 me included."Legitimate use of violence can only be that which is required in self-defense." Ron Paul
"The issue today is the same as it has been throughout all history, whether man shall be allowed to govern himself or be ruled by a small elite." - Thomas Jefferson

So....just how long is the trail of sparks that your nuts leave from dragging behind you on the ground?
And this is coming from a guy who open carries from time to time. You're nuts bud
But in a good way!
To women and gunpowder!
Live by one, die by the other.
But I love the smell of both....

OC'd at the doughnut shop this morning: Big Cop right behind me!
Emboldened by reading this thread last night (and the OC planned for El-indio on Oct 19th), I OC'd on the way to work while picking up a doughnut at the doughnut shop. All good... no strange looks. I turn around to leave the counter and standing in line, directly behind me is the biggest SDPD Traffic cop I have seen (had to be at least 6'4"), high black jack boots with a concerned look on his face. (In my mind, I was thinking "what are the friggin chances that in the first 2 minutes of OC, I run into a cop?..well ya... doughnut shop... duh!") I look him in the eye, give him one of those up-chin nods and say "hey, how's it going?" in that, "didn't we go to the academy together, good to see you again" kind of tone. I didn't wait to see his response (he didn't say anything back), I just walked by him back to my car and to my relief, he didn't follow. I don't know if it was my professional dress of shirt and tie, the fact I was wearing an ID badge around my neck, the fact that the back of the magazines in my open top mag-holster had label-tape on them with name and phone number (clearly showing I wasn't trying to hide my identity), or was it that he could clearly see that there wasn't a magazine in the gun? Maybe it the fact that I was in that "over 40" age group, or perhaps the guy was on a break and just didn't want to deal with it? Or maybe, just maybe, it what we all hope for: that he was educated enough to know that there was no crime being committed, had no reason to be suspicious of me, and was one of those guys who actually supports a law abiding citizens right to carry? Guess I'll never know. I'm just glad I'm not sitting in the back of a police car right now, trying to explain my rights to a high school educated cop with an attitude and wondering when I'll see my $1k custom XD pistol again!
