    Moly bore paste?

While cleaning out a cabinet, I found a container of Brownell's Moly Bore Paste. I remember buying this 8-10 yrs ago, as it was the hot item of the time. Suposedly, you coated a clean barrel and it would give you higher velosity, less leading, easier to clean, etc. I never used it, and if I remember correctly, it fell out of favor.
So, any opionions on this stuff?
Also, since it is a oil based molly lubricant (it has seperated over the years and it now has a good layer of oil on top, which I'm sure can be remixed) would this be a good general purpose gun grease?

I wouldn't coat my bore with that stuff or use it as a grease.

I've used NAPA moly engine assembly grease for bolt guns, shot guns, and pistols. I use a syringe and 16ga. needle to apply it. Toothpicks or modified Starbucks stirring sticks (grab a handful) also work.

It's an excellent lubricant and I don't foresee any issues with it.

I've never tried moly bore or bullet treatment stuff.

        I'd definitely try it.

U can coat ur boolits with it and bore. It will give a slight improvement in velocity. It can improve ur groups but theres so many variables to consider. It is a pain to clean up and apply but may yield good results and less copper fouling. Overall it just depends on if you are up to the extra effort to maybe get slight or good improvements.

            basically it goes like this:

Using Moly on bullets causes it to build up inside the barrel over time to the point you need to scrub it out or lose performance.

Using Moly to coat the inside of the barrel will greatly reduce any fouling and be super easy to clean. When you use it that way you do not get build up unless you use Moly coated bullets.

Here's why I refuse to touch the stuff. Pure snake oil and it can damage your bore.
