    Took my friend shooting today...

So I took my friend Josh today to Iron Sights for a little bit of shooting today (his request actually, this is his second time ) Since I am going shooting in the next 3 days and I am going to shoot the longer range stuff, I decided to mainly shoot the .22LRs, the entourage consisting of my tricked 10/22, brother's standard 10/22, friend's Hi-Standard SportKing A-103 and the Ruger MKII. Being that he is still a newb shooter with some slight flinching problems but still wanting to introduce him to the larger bore goodies, I brought along my friend's 6" Ruger GP100 with some standard .38SPL loads for him to try out.

Report: Well, I think we may have a new shooter on our hands! Unfortunately, he is going to some third world craphole for a while since he joined the Peace Corp but he really wants to try out archery so he can take something with him to hunt with while down there (Ecuador, I think.) I told him I will help him pick out a good gun before he leaves or after he gets back.

My work for the night is done. Time to go to bed.

P.S. What is with all the left-handed shooters? Seriously, it seems everyone and their mother are that way nowadays! I am left handed myself but I shoot and do pretty much everything else right (archery, shooting, carrying trays, knife carry, etc)

    Just curious

I used to shoot a little bit of archery here at an indoor range called Red Stag archery. I think they changed their name to OC Archery or something now, though. I had an old PSE bow strung to like 60lbs, but this was when I was like 15.

        WHAT YOUR A LEFTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bows are fun, really breathing needs to be controlled. They can be a challenge to set up properly, a ton of variables to think about. I he plans on hunting, know the anatomy of what you want to take.

The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

YOu know, sometimes I like archery better than rifle shooting. To me, it is almost more natural. Funny story about that, actually. My neighbor is an ex-cop douchebag and called the cops on me for shooting my air rifle (apparently the zoning changed) and luckily I didn't get a citation. So then I wanted to buy my Saiga rifle and when my gun dealer said "no" I said screw it and bought a bow.

Now, I am way deadlier with my bow than I am with my rifles. It can out-shoot and out-kill my air rifle and my neighbor has pretty much no idea about it AND there are no laws against it!

To piss him off though I hang the skins and heads on my side of the yard in front of his video cameras

I am right handed, but shoot both lefty and righty. It's because I'm left eye dominant. I will shoot lefty off of a bench, but righty pretty much everywhere else. It is nice to be able to shoot from both shoulders though!

Same here. Right-handed and left-eyed. Yay for cross dominance. Longarm on the left, sidearm on the right.

I know! The one thing I forgot. It was kinda funny though watching a 6'2" guy shoot guns tuned for his 5'8" friend, haha. When I handed him the GP100 he had a hard time finding enough space to place his hands. I told him that he isn't shooting the Mosin or SKS until there is a 4" buttpad placed on it, lest he should break his nose, haha.
