Bored? Watch this: (Shootout scene from HEAT)

Back in 94, I used to work in downtown LA and I had to go into work at Seventh and flower one Saturday morning. I was driving home on Figueroa and I saw all the commotion with the film crews and Tom Sizemore standing in his grey suit holding a shotgun. You never see the shotgun because they did it for screen testing or something. I even remember seeing all the (prop) cop cars that were blocking the 110 fwy entrance and they still let traffic pass on Fig. So I pulled over along with about 200 other tourists (mostly Japanese) and got to pick up some of the spent brass after they shot their scenes. Back than I didn't care much for guns, let alone afford an AR-15, I was like 19 years old. Brings back some memories. -
Jesus C that was bad-***!. I remember being in the theater watching it (with wood) and just wishing a war movie could be that good.......then blackhawk down came out!. I just hate seeing good guys getting shot up!, too many cop pals.Last edited by daskraut; 06-08-2006, 7:30 PM.You talking to me?Comment

It is definately one of the all-time gun battle scenes on film. I remember the numerous debates on the forums on what rifle Pacino used for that scene.
Interesting timing since the movie came out in '94 concerning the defunct federal ban. It must've given more traction for SB23 years later.
Since it was a bank robbery ring, wouldn't the FBI get it instead of the LAPD?Comment

Well first off, I can't see the FBI getting there in time. So thats why theres LAPD. Second, those guys were horrible shots.Originally posted by KestryllThe volume of blood necessary to achieve erection would cause you to either pass out or if you didn't and managed to maintain an erection you would likely die from lack of oxygen to the heart and brain.Originally posted by ivanimalJust be glad you are not his next door neighbor. I am sure there are "good tunes" flowing out the window. I am imagining a cop car pulling up at 1:30 AM asking "Are you having a party?" and Bundo sayin "Nope just me and the BG's"

Supposedly, HEAT did horribly poor at the theaters, but is doing extremely well on DVD. The new DVD with bonus features is awesome!

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

If you have the widescreen edition, look for the scene where Robert DeNiro climbs onto the bank countertop and starts talking to the crowd.
If you look in the bottom left corner of the screen, you'll see my head for a fraction of a second!
They filmed that at my mother's bank, and needed extras, so I got to be in that just for a moment (I was the only one tall enough to still be visible in that shot).
It took 2 days and something like 30 hours to just film the bank scene inside with him walking down the counter top. Extra work is about as exciting as digging holes with a shovel.
