    dpms sass or remington 700

So I have the money to get either a Dpms sass or use the same amount of money and build up a Remington 700. I want to get into long range precision shooting. I would greatly appreciate some input on what's better for doing precision shooting.

That's what my 700 started as. Still basically that. Just with some add ons and a B&C A3 stock.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't started a bolt gun semi auto gun argument

Buy both. But keep the AR 308 and the bolt gun 6.5 creed more. You will thank me later.

SASS but not a DPMS. You'll want a bit better of a barrel if you are working on small targets.

The Remington 700 is the superior long range rifle. Especially once you put a couple grand into it.

My buddy put the AICS on his and I have to say it is nice. Overkill for a beginner though.
