Is it a rule in the IDPA/USPSA/IPSC rulebook(s) that you have to engage the safety before going prone, or from prone to standing? If so, what happens if you have a Sig 226 or Beretta 92? Do shooters need to engage the safety from shooting box to shooting box? I always thought if the shooter is cleared to shoot and the muzzle is downrange everything is cool until RO says different or you're done shooting the stage.Comment

The shooting schools that I am aware of have no problem expending all that you have until the primary threat stops becoming your primary threat. Personally I haven't had too many beefs with an IPSC cardboard target lately so 5 shots does seem excessive.What school teaches 5 shots to the primary target if you're shooting multiples?Comment

Eyes should be on the target during a mag change, not on the gun.^^^The above is just an opinion.

The range I like allows CCW holders to draw from holster but that't it. And when someone requests to practice that way they always put him on the last lane and have one empty lane between him and other shooters.Comment
