    Under-Bed/Flat Safes

I don't have a place for a stand up safe, so I need a flat style that can be built into a bed frame or other large heavy structure. I'm looking for the biggest one I can get.

I strongly prefer a drawer style (Monster Vault) and not a door and tray (AMSEC). A combo lock is also a must have, not only because keys get lost and stolen, but a key stashed well enough not to be found will be too hard to get to in an emergency.

I really like the Monster Vault, and really the only problem I have with it is the price. There's no way I'm paying $650-$700 for that $300 box. I have heard of them doing gun show discounts, but I can't really bank on it, or bank on finding one used for sale.

Does anyone have any alternative suggestions that can hold more than one or two long guns? I've considered one of those tool boxes that's just one big drawer, but so far I've only seen key lock ones, nothing with a combo.

Monster Vault isn.t a safe. More of a cabinet.

That's true, but it's still better than nothing. It'll hopefully slow down the smash and grab tweakers, a pro burglar could get into any safe that I could afford to buy.
