Lawsuits taking a run at the machine gun ban...

If you have been out of the loop, the ATF backed themselves into a corner on several letters they issued on trusts being people. Long story short, the end result was that the ATF approved trusts to make new, transferable machine guns on Form 4s. Thats right, new, fully transferable, privately owned MACHINE GUNS.

ATF is now trying to bully the owners into surrendering their stamps. Owners are all very smart, and are now suing the ATF. If you are interested in the story, here is a link to Arfcom.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////This thread got the ball rolling on Hollis v. Holder, for current news and developments on the Post '86 Machine Gun Lawsuits, visit Nolo

If we can defeat the MG ban on a national level, there is certainly hope for more firearms related freedom everywhere.

I don't think you understand how the ATF works. This wouldn't even make the top 100 dumb things they've done this year.

ATF is the government. The government does pretty much whatever the hell they want, whose going to hold them accountable or stop them? They'll get those stamps back or make arrests. The lawsuit is a nice irritant but in the end, another branch of the government will back the ATF branch of the government. Can't have the minions legally making full auto toys can they?

One important thing you guys all miss is that the government are just different people hired to do tasks. Nobody is super human, super smart or super powerful.

Yes and no. Sure, the government is comprised of all humans that have human foibles. But governments are conceptually flawed, all of them. All they exist to do is curtail freedoms, regulate, tax and grow larger.

Governments are really like Bacteria. They can be useful, but once they spiral out of control, infection sets in and the host eventually dies.

I've been following this over on arfcom and I am hoping it works out. I want a machine pistol and a select fire M4A1.

They need to do it like the EnvironMENTALists.
                    Sue.
                    Get what you want.
Get lots of money for your cost and trouble.

Sue them even more with the new money.
Democrats>Socialists>Communists - Same goals, different speeds.

The most effective and pervasive enemy of American freedoms today is the Legacy Media. Defeat them first.

MG collectors would be none too happy. Instead of 400 grand for a transferable mini-gun, you could just buy a new one for 50 grand. Dealers would lose millions in value.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6

For he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Romans 13:4

Incompetence usually breeds promotions. Except in rare cases where a few are chosen to fall on there swords to protect those higher up the food chain.
