Open Carry of a loaded firearm within Multnomah County (the county in Oregon where Portland and Gresham are located) is not legal. Area where this occurred is rather sketchy.

In this situation, you would likely be dead. Reaction time to pull trigger < reaction time to draw gun and pull trigger. It's really not that complicated of a math problem. If you are just being an internet commando, go ahead and say whatever... But if you actually are in a situation like this, please use logic and don't get yourself killed. We don't need the good guys dying.

The second i heard about this i knew it would be a anti-OC (gun control advocate) wet dream, now those on the other side will use this as a "see guns don't make you safer" point. The simple fact is some guy was just not aware of those around him at 2am and like a dumb *** he got robbed.

Besides, what man of stable mind is not going to be watchful of some guy they don't know walking up to him at 2am? I've yelled at bums for getting to close to me at 7-8pm, at 2am if you're to close to me and i don't know you, you better act like a Little Caesars Pizza and be "hot and ready".

Do you know why police are taught the 30 foot rule? You can close that distance and inflict a fatal wound with a knife in the time it takes to aim and shoot.
