Match barrel for m&p 9mm. Worth it?

It's a CORE model and I've built it up so much to the point not much is factory anymore.

I was a vid on YouTube (yeah yeah) and the claimed reduction in group sizes got me wondering if it would be worth it?

Trying to build this to equal my competition STI which I doubt is possible but being a tinkerer I can't help it

    So any opinions?

Being a "tinkerer you can't help it". I suspect you are getting to the point of diminishing returns with that gun. Spend the money on more training if you want to improve your shooting.

What size groups and at what distance are you getting now?

          IMO no...

I only know a handful of shooters personally and in here who actually shoot good enough for that to make a difference. Even tho just about every shooter on the internet "can shoot out a dime at 25 yards."

I have a lonewolf in my G20, I like it because I can shoot lead and it offers more case support over the factory barrel. Accuracy difference I couldn't tell you

If you think it will add to the performance of the gun and you want it get it if don't think it will add anything performance or value why do it.

I guess it boils down to two questions:

                    1. Is an M&P really a good enough platform to throw all these mods on? I had an M&P 45 and P226 and the P226 out shot the M&P all day and night on the range. A number of my friends also had M&P 9's and it was the same story there.

                    2. Can you shoot that accurately? There is a certain point where the gun is more accurate than you are and until you catch up, you are throwing away money.

                    My 2 cents

I wasn't familiar with the CORE line at the time nor that it was built off of the pro version. So ignore point 1 above

Point 2 still stands but in truth if it was my pistol, and I would like to have one , I would go ahead and add the match barrel even though the pistol was already more accurate than I could shoot it.
