On Target messed up my PPT...

So I went up to Orange County a couple weeks ago to do a PPT at On Target for my SIG P226 I sold. Not my first rodeo- I've transferred multiple guns on both sides of the spectrum no problems. Today I get a call from On Target saying that they needed another signature and wanted me to come up at my soonest convenience. I live in Oceanside so I made it known how much of an inconvenience it was for me to drive all the way back up there. To their credit, they apologized several times she told me they could give me a couple of "range cards" if it made it better. I have never been to On Target outside of transferring this firearm so I was hoping someone on here could to me what a range card there is? At Iron Sights in Oceanside all a range card is is a $2 card that they give you after passing their dummy test.

a range card most likely means a card for free range time

i used to go there and when i took the rifle class(they make you take a class that only runs on sundays to shoot rifle calibers, pistol cal. carbines ar gtg as far as i know) and i recieved a card for 1 free lane(they dont really have a time limit which is nice)

their pricing iirc is $16 for the lane and $8 per additional shooter so figure a $12-$16 value per card depending on if you go alone or with someone and share a lane

There is not very much a seller fills out for a ppt, If it were me I'd ask what info they are missing, to Make sure it is not one of the extra forms that some ffls make you fill out for company policy. If I recall correctly last time I did a ppt there, everything was filled out on a laptop. The only form I remmeber filling out was about storage fees if not picked up by a certain date. I'd make sure it was not a company policy form before making the drive.

I did everything on the laptop as well. The storage fees (which I think is bs btw since nobody else I know of does that) was signed by the buyer. They said it was the signature to release the gun. UNLESS something went wrong with the buyer and they are trying to get me to release the gun to them (On Target)?!

Storage fees? Please elaborate. And keep in mind if you shoot here they will require your thumbprint, no thanks. Otherwise I've had no problem there in a long time but I don't shoot there and have yet to do a PPT there. I've always wondered how smooth one would go there.

I would guess that the signature they require is the seller's signature on the DROS form. It's the only paperwork the seller signs except for something store specific.

Storage fees: They charge the buyer $11 a day storage fee for the gun each day after the 10 day waiting period.

                  Wrong.

I just picked up a sidearm 26 days after the DROS - Zero extra fees.

And no - I usually dont wait that long - But I was at a military conference in Alaska...

Danny not sure if you got new gun or did a PPT but I was transferring my used gun to someone and the buyer signed a paper that did say it was an $11 a day storage fee after the tenth day, so don't tell me that I'm wrong just because you didn't experience the same thing. It wouldn't make good business sense for them to do that on a new gun, and if you did do a PPT perhaps they failed to have you sign that form. They screwed up on my PPT after all...

I've done multiple DROS and business with On Target. Good service, good company and I am sure this is a small mistake with a new employee.

My daughter and I have a yearly membership. Great place to shoot!

I've never been able to fully determine if charging a storage fee is illegal when a FFL does a PPT.

                            It happens...

At least they didn't do what the other shop did to another guy a few months ago. Demanding it's a felony if he doesn't show up ASAP and try would confiscate his gun or some crap.

If you are the seller and we need you to come back, most likely it's because the seller's signature on the DROS paperwork is missing. that's the only part seller has to sign other than our PPT contract form, which we won't be calling you if you miss a signature on the PPT contract form if you are the seller.

Range card as others has explain, is free range time pass. $18 value now for first shooter on the lane.

The storage fee we have on the PPT contract starts from 12th day and it's $5 per day, not $11. I am not here to debate the legality of this fee, just passing the correct information.
