Why do we screw each other?? Figuratively

I have heard people say, We as second amendment proponents need to stick together, rally for the cause, fight back the liberal gun grabbers.

How ever it's seems the gun community will screw each other faster than a shell casing can hit the ground. I'm talking about price gouging.

It makes no sense, yes free market bla bla bla. I have never gouged any one nor will I ever.

I have been looking for a siaga 132 should go for $500 the people and dealers and other are asking $1000!! Wtf. I know they got it for 500$ or less. I can get a zastava 629$ Fully converted. AK variants are not going away possibly just the Russian ones. Why would I pay 1000 for the sporting version.

During the ammo hype I had a guy try to trade me one box of 9mm for 3 boxes of .45 yeah never.

Any way it just saddens me that the gun community dealers, distributors, wholesaler and PP will burn each other just to make a buck

It's in peoples nature, like you said "free market" and they will push it as far as they can. Just say NO and look elsewhere, I thought the people buying were the idiots. WHY would anyone in their right mind pay $100 for a brick of .22?! Or any of the stupid prices for firearms and other ammo, mags...

Don't blame the seller, blame the BUYER!!! Many people said "don't buy, wait" but did you? Did most people? No, you paid the stupid prices because you were going along with the crowd! Learn to say no and either reload or pick up another hobby.

There appears to be a generation that has no idea what "capitalism" means, that one can be moral and still be a capitalist, and that right and wrong are not necessarily defined by what you can get away with.

Cross reference this with the myob crowd, who thinks the third grad "snitches get stitches" idiocy somehow protects bad actors, because while the bad actor gets a pass to do whatever they want, park wherever they want, etc., the rest of society is supposed to not "snitch", ie bend over and take it.

so, if the market price for .22lr ammo is currently 6-8cents a round, would I be gouging if I sold the 2 cases of CMP ammo that I 2 years ago for 2.25 cents/round at the current pricing, nope.

there is no reason I should not be able to sell my ammo for whatever I feel is right. if it is overpriced, it won't sell. if it is underpriced, it will sell immediately, I will have left money on the table, and the buyer might just flip it himself to make a buck.

as for why the saiga's are going up in price, that's because of the import ban that affected supply. its all supply/demand. buy something that has a good supply and the price will be lower.

even SIG''s are going up in price due to the last of importation from Germany. want a German SIG, got to pay the price.

Why? Because ultimately people are out for their own benefit, doesn't matter if we are talking about guns or anything else.

The gun market is more volatile than gold or stocks. Many are getting into it just to make a buck.
Russian stuff right now is the "thing" with the newly inposed sanctions inacted by our illustrious leader.
Maybe it'll settle down. Maybe it wont. Right now is probably the best time to ever own/purchasde an AR. Maybe do that now if you havent. Peoiple a few years from now will say, "DAMN I wish I bought in 2014". They were giveing them away.

Personally, I think Saigas are WAY overrated. Frankly, I have no idea what the appeal is. I'd go for ANY other AK variant.

How does comin together to support the 2A have anything to do with selling you my stuff? If you dont like the price then dont buy! I would march with a person that sells 22LR ammo for $100 just like I would march with a Muslim who also supported the 2A. One does not equate the other and what happened to that post about that seller and kalilracer?

It's because there is no community in firearm ownership anymore. It's all about them, and what the gun culture/products can do for them to make them look cool/feel like a bad a** for once. Which is why we also have idiots who rapid fire and light up other peoples targets and show up in full combat tactical gear and break the rules/safety doing so not worry about anyone or anything but how to look cool and only think of them selves.

Now that almost anyone and everyone has a gun from panic of government or from friends has brought a lot of "lower class" gun owners into the community and tarnished the community as a whole. New age, new perspective. Sucks to say it but gun owners aren't what they use to be. And a lot of them are just POS any bodies who just happen to own a firearm. Not actual gun enthesiests willing to contribute to the cause/comminity. l

You fail to distinguish between buying something for whatever reason, and later selling it for what the market will bear, on the one hand, and sweeping the .22 ammo (for example) off local store shelves, CREATING or at the least compounding supply shortages, then because of the shortage, selling at whatever you can get.

                            Those are two different actions.

The last case of 9mm I bought was $119 delivered, Israeli new manufacture. I have it on a pallet. I'm not selling it. But if I did, I wouldn't sell it for .11 a round.

There's a difference between that and influencing supply as a justification for high prices. The hunt brothers tried that with silver in the 1980s. I'm not saying these guys are coordinated, they aren't, but they are entering a complete distribution chain and influencing supply, while not providing any service.

The $100 guy isn't typically interested in guns or shooting. Just the $100.
