Yeah I'm just jealous.

Old Army bud of mine told me that he and his brother used to open up the big windows that looked from the living room of their folks house out to the backyard, and just sit on the couch and plink away. They just had to turn on a fan and spray some room freshener around before Mom got home.
(This was just outside Reno.)

I used to shoot in my backyard. Then somebody planted an orchard downrange. No longer safe, as there are often people working down there.

These days, I just shoot .22 Colibri into an impenetrable backstop.

Not entirely, you just need to live in the right location. While I can't do it here in 29 Palms, my buddy just moved to nearby Landers and he can shoot there. Though I think it's supposed to be limited to .22 and shotgun, so his neighbor wasn't really shooting a Mini14 I guess.
