    Scam Alert: Desert Warrior Products

    I’ve had a lousy experience with Desert Warrior products trying to order a Sage stock from them. Of course they charged my card immediately, didn’t fulfill my order for months, and don’t respond to phone calls or emails.

    These guys have no class or sense of how to run a business, and I highly advise NOT buying anything from them. I got suckered in by their sale prices, but now I’m out hundreds of dollars and don’t have anything to show for it. They have commercial sales threads on CalGuns often, and I think members deserve to know what a shady outfit they are.

    If you search on the forums, as I should have done before buying, there are others who have had similar experiences.

    6/16/2014. Placed order on their website. They immediately charged my card.

    8/11/2014 email to see order status, no response

    8/15/2014 email again, no response

    8/18/2014 phone call, voicemail message says they aren’t responding to phone messages (!)

    8/18/2014 email again, no response

    8/22/2014 contact desert warrior products via their calguns account and finally get a response from Daryl, who says it could be “at least another month.” I consider keeping this on order, but later decide that I just want a refund, since they have such terrible customer communication, they charged my credit card before the product was even close to shipping, and couldn’t provide a reliable ETA.

    9/4/2014 Daryl says he will talk to the owner and have refund processed.

    9/23/2014 I haven’t heard anything back nor gotten a refund. I send Daryl a message on calguns. No response.

    9/25/2014 Still no response. I send another message asking what is going on. No response.

    9/28 Tired of dealing with them.

    At this point, I am completely fed up with the complete lack of follow and communication on behalf of this company. Many people would have gone straight to their credit card issuer and disputed the charge long ago, but I was foolish enough to waste my time trying to work this out directly with them.

    I have just filed a dispute with my credit card company, as that seems like the only way to get my money back. I share this here in hopes of saving others the agony of dealing with this amateurish company that can’t even return emails or phone calls to people who have made purchases with them.

      Nope. At least with Visa, it's 120 days, which was lucky for me.

      Absolutely, learned the hard way. Hopefully I can save at least a few others the trouble.

        Looks like Desert Warrior Products has quite a bad reputation for doing this. Should have done my research in all these threads...this is just from Calguns alone. Other gun forums have threads with similar complaints:

        Desert warrior products. Buyer beware.

        Deser Warrior Products!

        Problems with Desert Warrior Products service

        I would not order from Desert Warrior Products

        Don't order from Desert Warrior Products

        They also have an "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau:

          This has been a problem with these low budget gun suppliers who operate week to week. They are constantly running behind in cash flow. Spending money for overhead and payroll while waiting for items they had to order with the next guys money.

          Borrowing from Peter to pay Paul.

          I consider a company that has a product on their Website for sale DISHONEST if they charge your card on items NOT IN STOCK!

          I make it a point to CALL in person, to check stock before placing orders with these companies. And always use a Credit Card for your own protection..

          Legitimate, successful suppliers, like RIFLEGEAR have REAL TIME websights that track inventory minute by minute.

          Of course, setting up a real time inventory website requires more resources and professionalism, but I am sure it's a win for everyone.

              Read the BBB complaints. Yikes. I'm surprised the CC companies haven't pulled their accounts.

                  the law says the time starts after you receive your bill with the problem charge on it. So you get some extra time between purchase and receiving the bill. Then its hard to prove when you actually received it so you get some more de facto extra time.

                      That is terrible that this happened. I hope your money is returned and that this is a wake up call to all of us on here. Thank you for the warning and I will put them on my list of people not to do business with.

                          Actually, it is precisely the opposite. Most webstore software charges the card immediately. It's easier for the software that way, rather than having another step of making sure the charge can go through when the order is ready and before it ships.

                          Responsible on-line vendors do one of the following:

                          1. Ensure that everything available on their website is in stock and ready to ship immediately (we do this now);

                          2. Use the webstore simply to collect order details and process the cards manually just prior to shipment (we did this for years);

                          3. Use a more sophisticated (and expensive) on-line system that requires an authorization or alert from the fulfillment department that the order is ready to ship and to charge the card only at that time.

                            Just did a search on them, the second website that showed up was a link to their BBB rating... I will not be doing business with them.
