Why do I torture myself by going into gunshops

Does anyone else put themselves through this?

I like browsing in gunshops knowing damn well I'm gonna find a firearm I dont need, but have to buy. Then I start thinking where can I come up with the money to buy that gorgeous Colt Commander.

Why the hell do I even walk in to these gunshops. It's torture

but I keep doing it.... jeeeeez

I go into gun shops and look at a bunch of guns that are over priced and a poor selection.

I would rather peruse the wts section than to into a gun shop and try and talk the them down from their 10% higher than msrp price.

Perversely, I dislike going to most gunshops. A LOT of them are run by really rude old guys who have absolutely no sense of customer service and generally have poor selection as well as rip off prices for ammo. Turners and CG marketplace FTW!

This and the fact that they tend to know nothing about gun laws in California.

You don't have to be hungry to look at the menu. I do the same, look at guns or cars that I shouldn't be looking at because I really don't have a need and then I end up with a new gun or another car.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

Im reading people dont like buying at gunshops cause they're over priced. I can see your point of view, but what happens when you find a NIB Colt Commander 1911 SS for $900.

Find deals in Gun Shops all the time, be willing to haggle, know your products.

When I'm looking to buy another mag loader and stop in to a LGS I mostly ignore the new guns. The used counter is always interesting.

I know that feeling. I can't even make it though a 10 waiting period before I start shopping for my next gun!

Seriously! After I bought my 1911, the fact that it cost $1400 really sunk in and I though to myself "I can't really take this thing in the woods, I gotta get a cheap surplus gun as a stand-in". I almost bought a Tokarev before I even had my 1911 in my hand!
Once I got my pistol I forgot about the Tok and then a month later, I found reasonable suspicion that Chiappa was discontinuing the 22mag version of thier double badger (as close to a "perfect" combo gun as I've seen in a decade of drooling over them) so I had to buy that!

Here I am in day 3 of the waiting period and I'm already shopping for a SxS! I've always wanted one but couldn't justify yet another 12 or 20 (especially one that holds fewer rounds). One look at the price of factory 410 drove me to straight to reloading and I figured that I could load .410 for 15-17 cents a round. Then I couldn't help but think "This could be my new go-to caliber... I'll need a way to burn through those shells faster than a single shot."

Luckily I'm out of spending money so the next gun, what ever it ends up being, is gonna have to wait a bit...

when i go to my lgs, i walk directly to the used handguns display case. i never know what i'll find in there. i've got a layaway on a S&W pre-lock going on right now, so i refuse to even look in the direction of the display case when i stop in to make a payment. resisting taking a look can be a difficult feat that leads to some pain and suffering.

I find them boring. neutered rifles and there's nothing on the emasculated roster I want.
My problem will be on-line when January comes. Wife and I have been SSE'ing 2 a month for a while. Spend tons of time searching on-line for off roster handguns. Don't know what I'm going to do with myself when it ends...reckon I can just reload more.

I wonder how many doing SSE's will go out of biz after January. With few handguns on the roster and everyone's grandma already with an AR, what will they sell next?
