He just had to do it..

So my uncle moved to washington from cali last year, he is never really been into guns, but he knows I am, so he had to rub it in that he lives in the free world now. He went into describing how he ran into someone open carrying up there, and was curious about it so had a chat with the guy who educated him on washingtons lax gun laws. He made sure to remind me about how Washington is "shall issue" and how you can OC without a permit.

He also made sure to mention the S&W M&P AR's at Sportsman's Warehouse in Silverdale, with the 30 round mags avaliable like candy at any gun shop. No need for BB's, MMGs, U-15s... just the rifles the way God intended.
All this time my face is turing red, and drool is coming out.. Now I think I know where I wanna move, like a gun owners paradise, compaired with California. Oh and my family is moving there to boot!!

But WA doesn't have washingtonguns.net, .org, or .com with a bunch of cool people like we do here in CA.

Heheh... It just slays me reading about all the utterly improbable and convoluted scenarios that some CalGuns posters pose about coming into lawful possession of prohibited standard capacity magazines.

"If I tumbled down a secret stairway through a magical looking-glass into a rift in the space/time continuum and landed inside a Turner's Sporting Goods store in the year 1988, and I encountered myself as a little boy chronologically twenty years younger than I am in the present day, could I fill his pockets (my own, really) with high-cap mags and jump back through the same wormhole returning to the year 2008 and legally be in possession of those magazines when I discovered them in the closet where they weren't before just a moment ago before I fell through the wormhole?"

"Suppose I was rafting on a routine expedition and plunged down a uncharted waterfall into the center of the Earth into a land of dinosaurs and Sleestaks and...."

One point. Washington's gun laws aren't "lax". They're "constitutional".
"Are you bringing in any weapons?"
                  "Of course not!"
                  "You're not changing anything."

Ehh. They have their issues as well.

AOW's are ok, but *NO* SBR/SBS's at all. No machineguns. Suppressors are ok to buy and posess, but illegal to actually use them in the state.

For normal rifle/pistol/shotgun and CCW, they are a welcome change from CA, but closer to CA than many other states like Arizona for example.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

Washington's weather sucks, especially around the Bremerton/Silverdale/Port Orchard/Seattle area, it rains like 330 days out of the year and it is cold. FREAKING COLD.

But I did manage to spend about 10k at the Sportsmans' Warehouse in Silverdale during the time that I was stationed there.

When I first got there back in 05, I applied for my CCW on a Monday and by thursday my CCW was at home. It was only like 18 dollars that I had to pay for it and it is good for 5 years and you did not have to put what kind of gun you were planning on carrying.

One time I went shooting with my brother that lives in Yakima, the next day I left at around 10pm to go home. I was falling asleep at the wheel and someone reported me that I was maybe drunk Driving. This WA State Trooper ended up pulling me over, I had two guns on each side of my hips, he then asked me if I had a CCW and I told him yes. He then instructed me to make the guns Condition 4 and I did he then took the guns for a few minutes while he ran my DL, and he came back after a few minutes and gave me the guns and told me I could go ahead and make them condition 1 again We ended up having a couple cigarettes and talking for about 30 minutes. That would never have happened here in CA.

I grew up in Washington (Seattle) and remember my friends dads gunsafe. My god, that thing was packed full of AR's and other handguns/rifles. I have been trying to get back into touch with her but no luck )=
