Though this section doesn't specifically mention firearms, it appears to be illegal.

Search has never been a friend of mine. No not really, I just want current up to date info.

Honestly the search bar on this forum and all vBulletin powered forums is lacking to say the least. I've tried to search a post with copy/paste key works and my S/N imputed and it pulled up threads I've never been in and if I'm lucky the thread containing the post I was looking for. Practically useless IMO. Better off key wording google.

What could someone do with my serial numbers?

Anti-gun politicians could legislate open access to firearm registration information allowing criminals to use on-line pictures like a Sears catalog shopping for where to burgle next.

Anti-gun politicians have legislated mandatory registration of certain guns and will surely increase the types which must be registered. A serial number of such a gun could translate into probable cause for police harassment.
