    Ammo storage solutions?

Alright, up until now I've gotten away with putting all of my ammo in the bottom drawer of my tool box. Well, time has gone on and now I've outgrown that bottom drawer with multiple calibers, parts and magazines. What do you all do for ammo storage? I don't have kids (yet) so I'm not overly concerned about making sure it is as secure as my firearms but just set on a shelf is not an option in my book. Let me steal your genius ideas Calguns!

Dear ISIS, Texas is not known for their gun free zones.

get metal file cabinet off of craiglist for like 20 bucks. it can handle a ton of weight because it was design to store paper. make sure they come with keys so you can lock it up too.

Use every drawer in the house. If your wife complains buy her her own guns and ammo and go shooting together.

        Worked for me anyway.

I have finally graduated to a pallet in the garage. Once you begin to palletize you realize you have a disease!

50 cal ammo cans work great. Water tight, stackable, carry handle, cheap, and with a bolt drilled in them lockable to prevent casual pilfering.

Bad news is they can be stolen easily should you have a burglary.

Regardless of the solution you choose, run by the hardware store and get some silica packets. Throw one in every container.

Hadn't thought about that but it is a good idea for sure.

I like the file cabinet idea. Only problem I have is that I don't have a truck to move it. Maybe I can convince someone to drop it off

ammo cans locked up. I use 30 cal cans. Not too heavy to move.

there is a guy down in san diego that sells the 50cal ammo cans for around $10.

watch the marketplace here on CG or check craigslist.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

Invest in some ammo cans or a tin locker.

I got a garage door 4'x2' locker for mine. And the HD stuff in the safe/nightstand.

No kids either but kids do frequent the house time to time.
