What weapon is this Secret Service agent carrying?

I remember seeing the uniformed Secret Service decked out with P90's many years ago, they also use the FN Five Seven as their sidearm. That's a lot of firepower and one hell of a load out.

FNH Five-seveN was tested, they went back to using SIG P-229 in .357SIG.

Surprised Secret Service don't put suppressors on their PS90's.

A suppressor would ruin the P90. 5.7x28mm relies on extremely high velocity to propel a light and small bullet with a high sectional density.

Suppressors are used with subsonic ammunition to operate effectively (otherwise the sonic boom generated by the bullet in flight would make them useless). However a subsonic 5.7x28mm load would be crap. You would lose every advantage, basically reducing it to the realm of .22LR.

Surpressors work BETTER with subsonic ammo.. but they do lower the Db with normal ammo quite a bit..

You run a P90 due the very compact size and large ammo supply.. a surpressor would negate much of the size advantage.

It's just an iconic weapon. It'd be like not being able to recognize the Beretta 92FS, but I guess those guys would have never watched Die Hard.
