    Shield Shooting slightly left ???

Ok guys so i took my Shield out this past saturday for the first time. I noticed it shoots slightly left at the 7yrd mark ( I think ) and good at 3 yrds.

Im not 100% sure on the distances i was at the Magnum range in Rancho and shooting from the first grey line on the wall 3yrds ?? and then the second One im thinking 7 yrds.

Anyways with my 92fs I did decent and most shoots where close to the center at 7 yrds

But with the Shield i was all to the left at 7 yrds Circled group. Then at 3yrds most where near center.

Now i know i need some work as i don't get out to shoot that much. I maybe get out 3 to 4 times a year if that. But i still think its shooting left at a distance. as my 92fs did not have the same issues.

Anyways i looked at the sights and they look fairly straight on the slide, if anything i think the back might be a hair to the left, Could pushing the back sight a bit to the right make it shoot better ?

Anyways heres my Target ( One of them ) Top was my 92fs and bottom was the Shield.

Any advice would be great. Thanks guys.

Oh yeah all these where shot with White bow ammo Winchester. 9mm on both.

Flinching is 98% of the reason people shoot low, left or low and left. Especially with striker fire pistols.

Also remember these are SD pistols, not bullseye custom comp guns. As long as you hit what your shooting at is all that matters. 1" groups don't save lives. Usually

I have been practicing trigger pull on the shield at home focosing on the front sight and i dont get any movement at all when pulling the trigger. i know this is different when you have live rounds in the weapon as your expecting it. But still think its a tad bit left all on those shots when compared to my Beretta.. But it might just be me. Going to see if i can get one of my friends to shoot it and see how they do.

Had the same issue with my Glock 19 until I got a lighten trigger connector. I know it's all about training but the kit was a great help.

I started noticing the same behavior when I shot my 9mm Shield but the kit for that thing is $100 or so, lol!

I had the same issue when I first got mine. It's the thinner grip in relation to your finger tip. Try your press closer to the crease.

While the stock trigger is fairly smooth and consistent the break is pretty stiff. The Apex triggers are probably the best thing about M&P's so I highly recommend them. It really shortens the learning curve with the Shield and you'll even shoot groups.

Groups are a good indication of shooter skill and gun accuracy.

Without seeing you shoot it looks like you are having a issue with the small size of the shield. Too much finger on the trigger and too much support hand. Shooting a Shield is very different than a 92.

Thanks guys I'll try a couple things to change my grip a bit and see what happens. I'll also look into that apex trigger. See what I can do. But I guess practice in this case might solve the issue

It's a common problem. Your grip is likely too tight and the lateral pressure is throwing off your shots just a bit. At close range, it's insignificant, when you go to longer ranges, the issue becomes a bit more problematic. Apply pressure to the front and back of the grip. Try a push/pull grip. Push with your strong hand and pull back with your support hand.

Use a shooting bag and stabilized the pistol. I did that with mine and it's dead on. The rest is operator error.
