Where to find book "How to Own a Gun & Stay Out of Jail, 2012 Edition

I'm looking for the most recent version of this book, which I believe is the 2012 edition. The website (http://www.gunlawpress.com) says it's sold out and I emailed the author but haven't heard back. Amazon and other websites have older editions. Seems strange that a fairly popular book is nowhere to be found. If anyone knows where to find one, I would appreciate the help. If not, are there any other book recommendations on CA gun law?

Considering the changes in CA law over the past couple of years, following a 2012 book would not keep you out of jail.

I've got a 2012 edition too. I would use it with a grain of salt seeing how much the gun laws in CA have changed and will change again in just a few months. Some of the basics are good though.

It's a good book in almost all respects; some bits of transportation law changed for 2013, as did law on buying/selling/importing magazine kits for 2014.

Those would be the most commonly encountered changes.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

I gave my 2010 edition away and that was latest I've seen. I bought that one in 2012 from SBSO

Get one for free off the web from the Cal. DOJ. It's the California gun laws. Print it out and keep it in your gun bag.

Y'know, there's a reason there are gun lawyers in this state. Just reading the laws is not going to help much (though, once you are used to the language and conventions and definitions, much of it is clear enough).

I did and none around me have it. Good suggestion though.

Read it a few times and it's comprehensive enough. I want it straight from the DOJ's mouth, not an interpretation that also may not be accurate.

Historically, DOJ's interpretation has been biased toward 'restrictive' and numerous statements on their website are inaccurate. So, too, are statements made by DOJ telephone-answerers, who are not lawyers, and who are subject to managers who report to a chain headed by an anti-gun Attorney General.
