Best flash hider/muzzle brake - AR15?

6.8SPC

9/16-24 muzzle threads

Which ones are the Best?

Stag Arms sells a muzzle break..Haven't tried it yet, since I haven't fired the rifle. I have my eye on the surefire ones as well.

What do you want it to do?

Muzzle brakes are usefull, but they trade more noise for less recoil, which may not be what you are looking for.

I had a heck of a time finding a properly threaded muzzle brake for my 7.62X39AR. Finally settled on this: http://powercustom.com/catalog/produ...roducts_id=639

They don't make a 6.8 cal one so I don't know how effective it would be on the .277 diameter bullet. I also have a Miculik MB in .223, I suppose you could get one & have it bored out to work on the 6.8.

They are shooting a 5.56 caliber AR, but you can get feel for how the different brakes/flash hiders compare.

Also depends on what configuration you are building. If it is a featureless build, you cannot have a flash hider.

It is NOT a featureless build.

I also need to know, it doesnt need to be welded/pinned if the upper is a 20 inch correct?

To answer your question, any good gunsmith can ream a 223 hole to a 6.8. It's not a big deal. If you're concerned just get a 7.62 and call it good.

That said, for FH's I'm partial to the Surefire's, YHM (combo) and the Smith.

For muzzle brakes, there's really the Surefire's, the Rolling Thunder, the DPMS Miculek, the Titan or the JP Enterprises BC comp. I'm sure you don't want the Recoil Eliminator.

A decent combo too is the MSTN QC.
