Luck with a WTB thread

Has anyone actually got a response and found what they were looking for in the WTB section?

I have only started a few threads in the WTB section but have yet to have any luck.

I have had luck. A CalGunner had a gun that I was looking for. And I got .22LR ammo that way, too, like around 2,000 rds. I also got leads on what I was looking for.

50/50 on 2 threads that I posted.

Once when I was browsing the W.T.B. I saw a post for a Coach Gun. I had a nice nickel plated Stoeger.Too nice looking to take in the field, and I didn't like the suns reflection off the barrels and frame. Contacted the O.P., everything went well. Win/ Win. So I think the odds are good, and worth a try.

Depends on how uncommon or obscure the item is you are looking for. A WTB ad or post for magazines for instance will have people PMing you offers within a week or two.

Never got any responses on my WTBs. I have responded to a few WTBs but the buyers were looking for a steal.

May give it a try. The last few I saw were not too rare a gun but with a price at least $100 below market. I was "well sure, I want to buy that gun for that price too!"

I've had great luck with the WTB threads---got rid of a lot of good stuff I no longer had use for---especially ammo during the shortage---like for example; 380 auto, 32 ACP, 38 S&W, etc---ammo I'll never use and helped people in need of it. WTB ads are a useful resource to find new homes for stuff I forgot I even had…
This can happen if you used to haunt gun shows in the old days before they went all beef jerky and popcorn on us...
