HELP CHOOSE THE GRIPS FOR MY RUGER GP100

I've got 4 different sets of grips for my Ruger GP100

In addition to the factory grips, i've bought 2 sets of panel grips and 1 pachmayr grip...personally, i like all of them, so, I'd like Calgun members to help me vote for which grips i'll keep on my revolver for the time being

eventually i'll switch them out, but, for now i'll go with whichever grip gets the most votes...i have it all polished up now and im ready to get some use out of it

Here's how each one looks on the gun:

Based purely on aesthetics, I vote the rosewood inserts...

I like the snake skin inserts.
I have some leopard wood inserts on my SP101, looks great but time to upgrade.
I'm thinking of going with Curly Maple, Lacewood or maybe Olive Burl.

Without getting into what looks best. I would choose the Hogue or Pachmayer .

Now if your into fashion, get the grips which look best with whatever suit your wearing !
I.E. For a black suit or black tux, select a smooth ebony type grip . For a white linen jacket with jeans use a white ivory colored grip .

Be very careful using these suggestions ! Color coordinated grips have been known to be a " chick magnet " this is epecially true in free states where RKBA is appreciated and honored ! ( wink )

Pachymar, the finger grips are too large on the Hogue and
the inserts look....well let's just say they are not my cup of tea.

3" barrel with a fixed rear sight. They were hard to find for awhile, but Ruger made another run of them. So now is your chance. On roster too.

I voted Hogue for the functionality. I have them on my 686 and really like them.

                      Ruger GP100 3" Stainless Steel Model #1715

got interested in it after watching a Hickok45 video and he reviewed it

stayed patient and waited until I found it on Classic Firearms for $547.00 with free shipping...I've seen it on Bud's for around $550.00 + shipping, YMMV if you look around

I'm partial to the rosewood. Personally would like them to have finger grooves but that two-tone grip just looks nice.
Do not try and bend the spoon, that's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth...there is no spoon.

The Rosewood grips are quite handsome. I would stick to those, personally.
So I was driving home from the range and I noticed that the scent of warm steel, burnt gunpowder and lukewarm coffee combined and smelled oddly of... Peanut butter?! Man, the Hoppe's is going to my head.

Im the one guy who so far has chosen: "Get a grip Steve, it's not that important". That said, The Hogue are the only choice. S&W saw fit to put them on my Model 629 mountain gun at the factory and I could'nt agree more!
