I've shot hundreds of rounds, and it's pretty good to me.. In fact I should be receiving my other 1k rounds this Friday..

I'd say that's a fair comparison. Both are foreign made with brass casings. I've shot thousands of rounds of both without any issues that I can recall.

+1. Shot thousands of rounds, and its been reliable and accurate enough to earn expert level scores on a handful of AQTs across a few different rifles at several different competitions.

It will throw fliers though. In my experience, you can expect 1.5MOA 8 or 9 out of 10 shots, with one or two fliers that open that up to 2-3MOA.

They both run just fine in my mispec lowers, the only problem i have seen is in running them in my polly lower. The primer on wolf gold is just as hard as the other wolf rounds and the polly hammer has a hard time igniting the primer. Other than that it's a great replacement for PMC. So unless you have a polly lower or you are running JP yellow springs i don't see any difference beside keeping more cash in your pocket.

It's the biggest drawback i've found in the LW15 lower.

that's nice to know i was sure the reduced power springs wouldn't have the force to ignite the primer.

Never had any problems with it. I'm currently stocking up on some federal aluminum ammo that I'm finding at Walmart in 9 and 45. I know I'm OT here but this stuff is gooood and at 9.97 per 50 in 9mm and 14.47 for .45acp you can't go wrong. It's pretty accurate too, perfect range/plinking ammo.

                      Wolf Gold works OK.
Not the most accurate/consistent ammo but it does go bang every time.

Wolf Gold is now being used for 556/223 rifle tests in major gun magazines along with the usual other ammo brands. It seems to be middle of the road for accuracy. Made in Taiwan.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong...

Is Wolf Gold basically Taiwanese military surplus? I don't imagine there's a home market in Taiwan for .223 ammo.

I don't think so anymore than PMC is Korean surplus. I think Wolf goes out and contracts with various ammo makers around the world for their product. I know their primary sources have been in Eastern Europe in the past, but I think that they have used several manufacturers for their various items.

From the US view, I wouldn't consider Lake City Ammo to be surplus. Federal runs the plant and I think some production is meant to be on the commercial market?

Story I've heard is this is special contract to have Taiwan produce the ammo. The primer and powder was actually consigned.

Also various website has chronograph result where the Wolf Gold .223 is in fact, 5.56 spec based on velocity. It appears to have crimped primer and bullet sealant as well. Not so much on PMC Bronze .223 (otherwise they won't come up with X-TAC and charge you more).
