    Pachmayr Grips GP100...worth it?

im interested in maybe buying some for my Ruger GP100...has anyone bought these grips lately, im hearing that the quality of the Pachmayr grips have really nose dived from their previous quality

also, if you have a Ruger GP100, how did they fit? Is the inside of the grip molded to hold onto the frame, because it doesn't look like the placement of the screw alone will prevent the grips from sliding up and down

i would appreciate any information you members can give me, especially if the quality isn't up to past performance

    thanks

I don't have them, so I can't answer that. But you may want to consider the earlier factory type. They look and feel great. If you go that route, you will need the locator pin.

Then add some Chig's Grips wood insert panels. His selection changes all the time and he is a great guy to do business with.

Yes, they are great. I have them on all of my heavy recoiling handguns.

thanks, they're pretty cheap probably can't go wrong owning a set

some reviews I have read mentioned that the grips molded for the GP100 didn't line up well under the trigger...has me wondering

Pachs are good but I would recommend Hogue grips instead. Much better feel.. http://www.hoguestore.com/index.php?...ex&cPath=27_60

the Hogues is what it came with from the factory...since, i've bought some of the old factory grips, and, a couple different inserts for it

with many of my guns, i tend to try all types of grips, and, usually end up with several for each firearm

I swapped a set of Pachs for a set of Hogues on my 686 and, as good as the Pachs were, the Hogues made me forget all about them.

My GP100 has 2 sets of Hogue's; Rubber and Wood. I was buying Pachs before Hogue's. I like the Hogue's a lot better.
