    Camp carry issues

Hello fellow Calgunners, I need advice on letting family members borrow my gun(s) while camping deep into national forest. Most of them have had range time with semi autos n revolvers but haven't had experience carrying holstered while hiking. What's the legalities of letting them borrow my guns during the duration of camping trip. I appreciate any advice and thank you for your time.--

Your gun, your responsibility. I had a friend who was having mountain lion attack his goat herd, he wanted to borrow my rifle, obviously i did not allow it, due to legal issues if he were to shoot something.

If friends and family felt comfortable going on this trip without taking a course and buying their own protection then it must be safe to wander around without a gun in the deep forest. I carry my gun as a signaling device and noise maker as well as a protection device.

        My vote is no.

If they have 10days to wait, they shoud buy their own firearm.

A friend asked me to borrow my firearm, because he was dealing shady memeber on a shady deal, he wanted to borrow my gun for protection.

I will not risk my firearms and/or the possiblity of me ending up in jail or my right to bare arms removed because he can not own his own firearms. What is he going to do? Shoot the shady guy, cops come arrest him and take my gun, arrest me for loaning it him illegaly. Or have the shady guy kill my friend and steal my gun....lose lose situation. A little off track but long story short, have them carry their OWN firearms. wait if they have to.

No. Don't do it. It isn't with it. Your friend should be able to acquire a firearm of their own. If not, pepper spray or bear spray should suffice. Unless you're going with them, keep your guns in your possession

Perfectly legal to loan out handguns if they have a HSC. I would not have a problem with my family but that is because I trust them. Teach them about using a holster and how to be safe. Better than getting hurt or killed while unarmed.

Concur, though in Idaho we don't have safety cards.

Is that in writing somewhere? Not trolling, a serious question.

HSC if it is a handgun. Do you trust them to only use it if necessary, or you are all aware that it is target practice time.

If you are worried that they might randomly let off shots for the hell of it, then I'd say you gave your own answer. If you trust them implicitly, then there you go.

Laws commonly do not address what is legal.

They normally address what is illegal.

So, check the CPC. You'll find nothing prohibiting lending a pistol to someone who has the HSC and who is not prohibited from owning a hand gun.

                              Not trolling back...serious response.
