Loan statement acceptable for proof of residency?

One FFL accepted it but not another one. They said the first FFL shouldn't have accepted it... who is right?

Good to know... stupid that you can use a lease agreement but not a mortgage...

You don't have to live in a house to have a mortgage on it.

You don't have to live in the state to pay for utilities or have a vehicle registered here either.

Well, even though you pay the mortgage it doesn't mean you actually live there. This keeps out-of-county/state landlords from claiming they live in a house they're renting out. Most landlords aren't leasing the property they're renting to others. Now, if an enterprising homeowner wishes to rent out their property, and just happen to pay the gas bill under their name for the tenants...

The problem was that pretty much everything is in my name, except the mortgage statement which my wife is also on. So when she was picking up her pistol, that was the only thing we could think of that even had her name on it.

Title of the house is probably in both names.
